"We had a great time. We loved the fact that we could walk out in the water at least 1/4 of a mile."

"We had a wonderful time indeed. The cottage was just right for us, and the weather was nearly perfect for a lovely vacation. Hard to say what the highlight of our stay was...there were so many. Sitting and reading on the deck in the afternoon. Motorboating around the beautiful lake. Bicycling around the lake as well (the hills to the east were tough!). Coffee and rolls in Alden. We had a great time overall."

"The cottage is located on a beautiful section of Torch Lake. There is a large deck right on the lake that is perfect for afternoon sun and watching the sunset. There is also a lovely sandy beach with a firepit -- a great spot to stargaze in front of a warming fire. We would definitely rent this place again!"

"Very clean and charming cottage and beautiful surroundings. Prefect for all our activities. From boating to swimming to nightly fires in the fireplace while playing games. Plenty of entertainment close by, and also, plenty of tranquility if you chose. It was perfect for our family of all ages."

"Charming, quaint, clean, private and quiet. The kind of place where Thoreau would have gone to write. The cottage and guest house were perfectly suited to a wonderful family vacation. Thanks Nan for making our experience comfortable and memorable."

"The cottage is located ideally to all major fun spots around Torch Lake. The deck that looks over the lake is beautiful. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable. The cottage has an older charm to it. The owners allowed us to play their piano and use their kayaks. Much Fun!!!! Thanks, Nan."

"Fantastic setting, especially for wading in the lake from the beach, and for cocktail hour(s) on the deck watching the sunset! We were very lucky with the weather, perfect and warm every day, and that makes for long afternoons on the water or reading in the hammock, dinner al fresco from the outdoor grill, 9:30PM sunsets, stargazing at night. Canoeing is great morning and evening (check with owner re availability). Cottage has a lot of charm, though if you like sleek & modern or suburban style, this isn't for you; kitchen and baths are small and slightly dated but adequate. If there is a bad weather day, they have lots of games and puzzles and two big stone fireplaces as well as a variety of books, good for family time. Town is more like a pleasant 10 minute walk. Alden has a wide range of stuff from tourist kitsch to upscale clothing and a couple of places to eat, also a playground and tennis courts. Once a week there's a market and music, check the schedule. However, if you like the lake, you'll enjoy spending most of your time at the house or on the water!"

"This cottage sits right on Torch Lake and has awesome views of the beautiful, clear blue water! It has a wonderful deck which overlooks the water. The cottage is old, but quite comfortable. There is a big dining room table looking out the big picture window, viewing the lake. The family room is large and the furniture is comfortable. Bedrooms and kitchen are small, but good enough, since most of your time will be spent outside!"
